Facing complicated <strong>emergency scenarios<\/strong> such as the one we are currently experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the total or partial paralysis of activities requires an <strong>agile and flexible asset management strategy<\/strong>, capable of adapting to the changing needs of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The use of <a href=\"https:\/\/retaintechnologies.com\/en\/strategic-enterprise-asset-management-eam\/\">digitalised asset management systems<\/a> allows emergency situations, such as the current one caused by the coronavirus, to be dealt more efficiently, managing activities and teams remotely, minimising movements of people and controlling risks.<\/p>\n<h2>Retain&#8217;s experience in the COVID-19 crisis<\/h2>\n<p>The last few weeks have shown the <strong>importance of having a digital perspective<\/strong> in companies. For those that had implemented remote work and <a href=\"https:\/\/retaintechnologies.com\/en\/digital-transformation-on-asset-management\/\">digitalization of their systems<\/a>, as in our case the management and maintenance of assets, the additional effort to continue their activity since the entry into force of the emergency state has been minimal.<\/p>\n<p>In spite of all the uncertainty generated by this situation, having a digital strategy allows us to continue developing the different tasks in a decentralized way. On the other hand, it has been possible to verify how the implementation of permanent remote work does not imply a decrease in productivity. Going through a situation in which everything is questioned is also generating the optimization at a personal and corporate level of the way of proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>As a practical example of the above, we indicate below some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/retaintechnologies.com\/en\/kpis-asset-management-frequent-indicators\/\">KPIs obtained from the management systems<\/a> implemented by Retain during the alarm state in different clients, compared to periods of normality:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>40% increase in work validation<\/strong> through maintenance management systems. Although fewer issues are reported from the points of sale, this time is invested in approving the work carried out by maintenance staff, a task that is normally left in the background during periods of full activity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>50% increase in work closed<\/strong> through maintenance management systems. Suppliers take advantage of this time to regularise work that had not been closed and invoiced. In this way, the decrease in activity does not imply a decrease in invoicing and positively affects the state of the client&#8217;s assets.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Increase of 10% in the registration of documentation<\/strong> in document management systems, based on the above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Benefits of Asset Management<\/h2>\n<p>On the other hand, having the information centralized and digitized allows to have it updated at any time and place. Below are some <strong>concrete examples of the advantages<\/strong> this offers in the current context:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Optimising the disinfection of sites<\/strong> through communication and action by means of a single communication channel, with an action process implemented.<\/li>\n<li>To be able to <strong>prepare different scenarios<\/strong> based on the forecasts of return to normal activity and the work to be done, being able to prioritize according to the company&#8217;s standards, among others.<\/li>\n<li>To have indicators of the affected sites in order to <strong>draw up reopening plans<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The management systems <strong>can be connected with the devices<\/strong>\u00a0so that the communication of anomalies in the operation is done through them (Internet of things)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This implies that the use of the systems remains constant with respect to periods of normal activity and become more relevant.
